Internet, social media and religion

The interfaces here intrigue me, so I thought I might as well open a thread to put in relevant links.

For example: God, games and the power of choice. Excerpt:
It’s a capacity for choice, and the ability to construct an artificial world and act within it with agency: two acts mirrored in the Bible by the concepts of free will and Genesis.
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. - Psalm 26

I wouldn't want to play such games which test my 'moral agency'. There are enough daily real life temptations from which to choose the good from the evil, I don't need artificial ones.
"Lead us not into temptation"says the Lord's Prayer, which is also translated as 'put me not to the test.'
We may be doing the devil's work by encouraging such games. It is best to avoid the occasions of sin.
Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing make you afraid.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
If you have God you will want for nothing.
God alone suffices.

Why can I not read 'free will' these days without thinking it says 'free wifi'? :lol2:
Interesting topic, DG. Will read the article. Multitasking atm listening to radio national debate on media bias.

Transferred. But, it is difficult to define and explain this topic? S.P

Read the article. Thanks DG. Having been immersed in a video game for several months once I can see what a huge pull it has on some people.
Pondy, your post is completely off topic.
