Jersey Child Abuse

It is disgusting that this child abuse was covered up for so long. :o
I know it is years too late as the man is dead long ago, but it might be an idea if an inquiry was conducted into the child abuse in the 50s, which took place at my first school (4-14) in my home Channel Island. The head hated kids from poor families and beat them black and blue with a stick, not a cane, for no better reason than he enjoyed doing so. He even beat one boy unconscious. He liked to humiliate them in front of the class by beating them on their bare bottoms.

Sounds horrendous. Have you read "Such, such were the joys" by George Orwell, his account of his time at a hellish prep school before WW1? http://www.orwell.ru/library/essays/joys/english/e_joys

I just finished reading it Sprocket. Things were certainly bad in English boarding schools at that time . The most upsetting part of it is the snobbishness of the age!
Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing make you afraid.
All things are passing.
God alone never changes.
Patience gains all things.
If you have God you will want for nothing.
God alone suffices.
