That's why it all dies down quickly and we hear no more of it. However I do remember the footballer issue and at the time I thought the idea of footballers having poppies applique'd to their shirts rather pointless. Post match when they'd showered and dressed in their own clothes they could wear poppies if they wanted to, being interviewed or just getting on the coach.

The Sun article posted by Pondy states that 11% of the population do not wear poppies. Which means 89% do so what's the problem?
