Wow Val, you really have had an experience! Glad you came through it, safe, and were able to cope.

The thick snow here vanished completely over the weekend and the temperature is up.

I don't see any logical connection between your winter weather Val and global warming, You are going to have to move to the warmer winter climes of Toronto. it is cold here, but there is no snow and Spring is in the air.

It's warmed up, and is now mild and early-Spring-like. The snow has disappeared.

'Our' weather certainly is weird, Sprocket. It's so nice now the thick snow seems like a distant memory already. Storm in a teacup really.

There is no snow here in Etobicoke, and we have a dull grey sky with a temperature of about zero C. (+ or - two degrees) throughout the day.
Up north in Cardiff we have similar temperatures and six inches of fresh snow on our driveway. I have just visited the cottage and we measured the old furniture and went to a furniture shop in Bancroft where we bought two cream/white leather Chesterfields. The store accepted a down payment and will keep it for us for a month. By that time all the snow will have all gone.

EDITED.
