Macholand?

Postby GregB » October 28th, 2017, 8:56 am

Spain is thought to be a male-dominated society, but two high-ranking members of the government are women (and attractive ones at that!) The first photo is of the Deputy Prime Minister (the second highest government office), Soraya Saenz de Santamaria:

The second one is of the Minister of Defence, Maria Dolores de Cospedal:

Yes, Minister!! (In Spanish: Si, Señora Ministra!!)

Cor! A bit of an improvement on Frau Merkel and Mrs May, cosmetically!

Why, if it prosper, none dare call it treason.

Indeed! And bear in mind that the party in government, el Partido Popular, is a conservative party!

Such approval of beauty is not sexual Sarniajoy, but an expression of romance.Men's minds are not always in the gutter of lust.
According to one study, the average adult has a shorter attention span (eight seconds) than a goldfish (nine seconds).
This is not surprising in today's wired , or wified world.

What's the problem with calling attention to the attractiveness of those two female politicians? They are, as well, supremely intelligent and their public discourses and contributions in the Spanish parliament are eloquent, often brilliant, and put many men there in the shade.

As for Weinstein, his disgusting behaviour has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.

In the same vein as my opening post, here is the candidate for the centre-right Ciutadans (Citizens) party in this Thursday's elections here in Catalonia, Inés Arrimadas:

She looks really pretty in a girl-next-door sort of way. 'Nice' and good!

Soraya looks like a film star, Maria like a TV star.

Sarnie's comment was undoubtedly provoked by the comparison to Mrs Merkel and Mrs May, unfavourable to them due to their ages and looks.
I agree has nowt to do with Weinstein but one can imagine someone like him making similar comments about women.
