More Wind In The Willows

Postby GregB » September 18th, 2013, 11:42 am

After putting in the title of Kenneth Grahame's classic novel on the Book Link thread in the Funny Business section the other day, I decided to look up the author on Wikipedia for forgotten biographical information. There, I discovered that a modern author called William Horwood, a writer of children's stories centred on animals (I'd vaguely heard of 'Duncton Wood') had written four 'sequels' to Grahame's book, known collectively as 'Tales of the Willows'. The reviews on Amazon are mainly glowing, so I was wondering if anyone here has read any of them and, if so, what they thought of them.

I also discovered that there have been a couple of film versions of the original book, but more about that on the Film thread (in General Discussion.)

Heard of them - the first was called 'The Willows in Winter', I think - but haven't read them.
