Greg's idea is best, and the bigger pot. Gnocchi is even worse. It froths and bubbles up terribly. I found with that, literally standing over the pot and blowing on it causes the bubbles to recede. But, gnocchi cooks very quickly. :mrgreen:

I put the pot on ring level 6, until it just starts to boil. Then I turn it down to ring level 4. Same when I'm cooking rice. It works for me.
