The Second World War - Winston Churchill (my next mega-read, when I've finished 'History of the English-Speaking Peoples', which I nearly have done - about 20 pages to go.)
Brendan Behan once went on a lecture tour of Canada. On his arrival, a reporter asked him why he'd come to Canada. Behan replied "I saw an advert that said 'Drink Canada Dry', and I thought 'I'll try anything once!'"

That is a marvellous book and marvellous TV drama last year with Benedict Cumberbatch.

KL: A History of the Nazi Concentration Camps - Nikolaus Wachsmann (reading it at the moment: grim and depressing, but interesting.)
